The Bane Of Being Famous
'The bane of being famous....'
As I continue to document/share my life with the world and urge other's to do so as well, through my observations, I feel many come to identify with this 'collective fiction' or this 'role' they eventually come to play in order to produce a certain outcome from their 'audience' which, Eckhart Tolle breaks down in his book 'A New Earth' ultimately stems from the ego.
In this modern day world driven by social media, everyone can now have 'a piece of fame' and its very easy to build an echo chamber of egoic mindsets focused on the same 'collective fiction'.
I've had discussions with others who happen to be sharing their lives on social media and some have stated to me that, when they are 'saying things on social media' they aren't 100% speaking how they truthfully feel in the moment but they are adding angst and emotion when 'speaking to their audience' or that at times they are 'speaking for those who can't/won't say those things for themselves' or that they are 'speaking for a certain group of people' and although I think there are aspects of this that are important as I myself am 'trying to represent the morals and values I want to see in the world', I feel many others do it because they personally identify with it.
They get a high off the replies & the notifications that come whenever sharing their egoic perspective about the world causing further inflation of the ego and further cementing that their identity is valued and 'necessary' leading them to identify more with this 'thing they support' rather then being true to themselves.
They use this 'role' of taking a certain moral stance on a ideology or siding with the values/strife of a certain group of people they see as 'disadvantaged in society' and use it to leverage an audience in order to feed their ego but inevitably don't see how their actions rarely lead to a favorable outcome for those they are trying to support in the long run....
Be cautious of those you follow on social media who regularly share their 'emotional angst' on subjects. It very rarely comes from a logical/sound mind and is deeply rooted in their ego.
