Trading 'Fields Of Consciousness' For Likes On Facebook
I'm not sure if it was just because I was young and it was quite easily triggered due to my naivety but I felt like many adults had this 'intense presence' around them.
You could feel it on yourself and even notice it in others from afar, this 'field of consciousness' of someone who is content with the insubstantiality of the past and is allowing the present moment to be as it is.
Now, I'm not sure if it is because I am older or due to the world now being more connected to the internet but I feel like I rarely experience this 'field' where someone can affect myself or others by just 'being'. Without really doing anything of real substance, simply by being, these people are able to dissolve accord, heal pain and dispel unconsciousness.
I feel we traded this 'field of consciousness', this being in the right here and right now, for a few likes on our Facebook post or Instagram photo.
Instead of being here and now, alive in the moment, we are thinking, 'hmmmmm, I wonder if people who like a picture of this.' Taking that photo and then disconnecting from the now to put ourselves in the future. Then when we look at that picture and if people enjoyed it or not we put ourselves in the past. Constantly going from past to future and living in this zone some of us never escape from it and never actually have a 'presence'.
Some of us are so disconnected from the now that instead of a field of unconsciousness I can actually feel a field of pain and disconnect from the world.
Just interacting with the world instead of acknowledging that you are the world, you are life.
Be that life. Be present.
